What is a 48-Hour Notice to Enter?

A 48-hour notice to enter is typically required for non-emergency situations, meaning it must be issued in advance, giving tenants a clear idea of when the landlord plans to visit. This notice can be for a variety of reasons, such as performing maintenance, inspecting the property, or showing the property to prospective tenants or buyers.

Under most tenant rights laws, the notice must be provided at least 48 hours before the landlord’s planned entry. The notice serves as a courtesy to the tenant, giving them the time to either prepare for the visit or request alternative arrangements if needed.
